SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY!
Ahh yes, my favorite day of the week to send out the CR Newsletter (or do anything else for that matter!) Welcome back, amigos!! This issue is very short and sweet due to a covert operation I've undertaken (see details below.) ;) That said, thanks for reading and let's get right to the good stuff.
This month it's all about YOU, the creator! This issue is dedicated not only to all the students, pros, and rising stars of entertainment who have cut out the middlemen and taken matters into their own hands, but also to the people who created us, our moms!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY and a special thanks to all the mothers out there (love you, Mom)!!! And so, on that note, for the first time ever as our featured banner, I give you the . . .
"Artist Of The Month"
(Dudes I Know That Maybe You Should, Too!)
CHECK OUT THE OFFICIAL FILM FEST FACEBOOK PAGE!
April's "Artist Of The Month" is a very ambitious gentleman by the name of Rick Solomon, a classical animator who is keeping the traditions of The Golden Age alive! I first met Rick at his studio in Los Angeles, where I quickly learned that he and I share the passion not only to create, but also to support our fellow artists. Rick's internship program, called The Animation Party, offers a broad spectrum of education to those interested in learning the nuts and bolts of the craft. Rick's background in animation ranges from traditional paper-flipping to storyboards, digital media, and a little bit of everything inbetween. He is currently producing his own short film (which I've been honored to be a part of), entitled Stupidly Smart, which will debut at his first official Solomon's Treasure's Film Festival 2011. Much like his internship, all ages, students, and levels of quality are welcome!
To submit your film, reel, or final project for consideration, please contact Ms. Kelsey Wong at email@example.com and find out how you can be a part of this great opportunity to share your work with the world! All entries must be received by May 17, 2011. I have witnessed Rick's programs and projects first hand, and am submitting two of my own films from high school. These exciting events are all great ways to get your foot in the door! Thanks so much for the opportunities, Rick, and for sharing them with us here at the CR Newsletter. We can't wait to see what the future holds for you and all your endeavors -- Godspeed!!
